The value of gold reserves registered in foreign exchange reserves amounted to $7.8 billion at the end of January, compared to about $6.3 billion in December. On the website of the Central Bank, By reviewing the data of the last 10 months, the increase during January is the second largest increase over the past 10 months, according to the Central Bank of Egypt.
Data from the Central Bank of Egypt showed that the value of gold reserves at the Central Bank of Egypt rose by about $1.1 billion during the last three months, compared to October, when the value of gold reserves amounted to $6.6 billion.
The value of gold recorded in Egypt’s foreign exchange reserves led the general public reserve to rise in January by about $221 million, bringing the total reserves to $34.2 billion by the end of January.
